A big hug and thank you to Allen Jackson for all your help along the way. Your lifetime of collecting photos and stories of Allagash and its people and your work at the Allagash Historical Society will not be forgotten.  I always heard that if you wanted information on Allagash just ask Allen. Thank you for the family tree to start with.  I could never have gotten this far without your help.  Also, thank you for the DNA tests you agreed to take.  The information gleaned from them was priceless.

I will always remember with a smile our trips to the cemeteries, even the time I tripped and broke my leg.  What a fun time we had taking photos and talking about family history.  Only people who understand the passion for genealogy could understand us having fun in a cemetery among the old stones.

I may have gotten over the wall of our Aaron but everyone should know that I was standing on your shoulders.

Allen Donald Jackson was a proud veteran of the United States Army having been stationed in Panama and Washington D.C. Allen, as he was most often called, will always be noted for his colorful witticisms and language. Those who knew him often would state, "There will never be another one like him." Allen enjoyed painting, playing the guitar, working on the computer, and quilt making. Those lucky enough to have received one of his quilts have a true masterpiece. He had a genuine love for his community of Allagash and its rich history. Allen served as the President of the Allagash Historical Society and could talk genealogy for hours. Allen loved his family beyond measure being a devoted son, brother, and uncle. He will be deeply missed by friends, family, and all who knew him. ". How lucky we all were to have something that makes goodby so hard". written by Colleen O'Leary McBriearty
