Aaron Aron Aren Oren Ann Laurent Turson Jackson

Aaron's children, Benjamin, Aaron, Daniel, Rosanne, Richard and George were baptized together on March 21 1861.  The baptismal record says they were legitimate children; No marriage record has been found.

The baptisms were recorded in the French community of Frenchville, Aroostook, Maine, in the parish of St. Luce.  The records listed his name as LAURENT, with Aaron Jr. also being listed as Laurent.

The French language always places an "l" in front of any vowel.  His name went from the Anglican "Aaron" to a more French sounding Laurent.  At a later point, these records were transcribed into another book.  Because of the poor handwriting, the surname Jackson was transcribed into "Turson".

Note: All baptismal entries for this period were written the same "legitimate children", confirming that Aaron and Marie were considered married by the church.

"OREN" comes from records of The Aroostook War.  (see #2 "Other Non-DNA Clues").

"AREN/ARON/ANN" comes from the 1850 census, Hancock Plantation, Aroostook, Maine.  The name was indexed as "Ann" on Ancestry.com but the image appears to be "Aren or "Aron".
