First Step: DNA
First Clue

Ancestry.com

Multiple descendants of Aaron Jackson including a great grandson Maynard Jackson, a third great grandson Keith Jackson, and two 2nd great grandsons Hampton G. Jackson and Allen Jackson were tested.

It is important to test multiple ancestors as the DNA will be different for each person.  We all get different parts of dna from our ancestors.  Some tests will catch one person but not another.  Multiple tests help find more matches.  M ...Maynard; K ...Keith; A...Allen; HG ...Hampton G.

The first clue came with a match to Ancestry.com member brenn55* (4th-6th cousin match) for Maynard Jackson & Keith Jackson.  She also showed as a 5th-8th cousin match to Allen Jackson.  Her ancestor of interest was Oliver Jackson, husband of Hannah Lambert. (see Connecting Oliver & Benjamin Jackson          , also see Children of Oliver Jackson & Hannah Lambert)

Note 1: I tried to find any other reason that she was listed as a cousin to Aaron's descendants and nothing was found. Upon further research I found other members who also descended from this Oliver Jackson and Hannah Lambert.

Note 2: This match originally showed up on Ancestry as a 4th cousin match.  Ancestry.com changed its format and she is now listed as a 4th-6th cousin. This dna match was my first clue, the one that started everything.

Research found other direct descendants of Oliver M. Jackson and Hannah Lambert.  They are:

L.B. (managed by DClough519)**.....4th-6th cousin H.G. Jackson and 5th-8th M Jackson.

ashli_densmore***..... 5th-8th cousin to both M Jackson and K Jackson

Katie Seekins****..... 5th-8th cousin to K Jackson

P.S. (managed by aseekins)***** 4th-6th cousin K Jackson

With these clues I started researching Oliver Jackson h/o Hannah Lambert.

Oliver Jackson a.k.a. Oliver M. Jackson married Hannah Lambert on Oct. 16, 1825, Winthrop, Kennebec, Maine.  Hannah Lambert was the daughter of Gidean Lambert and Susanna Fairbanks.  I've determined Hannah's parents by the 1850 census showing her son son Horace S. Jackson in the home of Gideon Lambert          & Susanna (Fairbanks) and in the 1860 census where Horace S. Jackson is the next door neighbor to Gideon Lambert & Susanna.  Gideon Lambert & Susanna Fairbanks  believed grandparents to Horace S.(Seaver) Jackson.
